On a recent staff training day, three WBAIS Genius Bar members accomplished a milestone for their school by becoming the first students to lead a workshop for teachers. In "Video Creation step by Step" they explained the process of making a simple video using only a smartphone and basic editing software like iMovie. They walked teachers through each stage, from brainstorming and storyboarding to filming and editing. In less than an hour the group produced a short video using all the skills they'd just learned! The teachers left with a better understanding of filmmaking to share with their classes. -- Christopher Panna

The iWizards absolutely had a blast doing FlipGrid and Google Hangouts with Pinch Elementary on Global Education Day. We are hoping to Hangout with some teams on February 8. Contact us at [email protected] At the start of the 2017-18 school year, Mercy hosted its annual 9th Grade Tech Orientation, run by the iWizards. Split up into different categories such as Google Drive, printing, Notability, and much more, the iWizards helped the incoming students to learn how to use their iPads in preparation for the new school year. The iWizards got to meet many new faces, and teach the new students a thing or two about apps and technology! See you next year at the next orientation! |
