CTI4C is a unique, student-interacted and student-oriented course, where students are given the opportunity to design their own course by creating and running projects either individually or in groups of students who are sympathetic and are passionate to work on a common project. In addition, students offer the AIS Genius Bar during their class time, helping students from other classes, teachers, and school staff with various technological problems they are facing.
Projects are usually presentations or promotions of tech related ideas in school, to a wide variety of audiences, such as teachers, other students from all grade levels, and even parents.
The course is lead by Mr. Andrew Chiu, the tech coordinator of American International School. Guidance will occasionally be provided by him, to students who either encounters a complicated problem and seek for help, or to help students who are lost in terms of what should be done, refocus their attention of the next step of their task.
Check-ins will be conducted by him, regarding how many tasks at hand the student being marked has completed, how engaged the student is with the course, the reflections by the student themselves, and side projects such as creating blogposts on the school's blogger page.
Since this is a new program offered in our school, there are a lot of other things we could learn. We are looking forward to working with students from other school and sharing ideas with them.
